Google to disclose ‘Right to be Forgotten” requests in search results.

According to The Guardian, Google plans to make searchers aware when links within the search results are removed as a result of the controversial right to be forgotten ruling.

The EU ruling declared that individuals can request search engines to remove information about them, which resulted in Google introducing an online form for individuals to apply.

It is believed Google will display an alert in replace of a removed link stating why the link has been removed similar to that already in place when copyrighted material is removed from the search engine. A search for ‘Coldplay MP3’ produces the following in the search results:

coldplay

Search results on Google.com will remain unaffected.
