Who owns what. Renting gives you the use of the website for as long as you rent it. You own it once you buy it outright, which you can do at any time, priced by the size of the site at the time; rent already paid does not come off. If you stop renting, the site is taken down within 30 days. Your words, your photographs and your domain name are always yours.

With RentAWeb you rent your website for a low monthly fee and we look after everything: hosting, security, backups, business email and unlimited content changes. You do not own the site unless you choose to buy it out, which you can do at any time. The buy-outright price goes by the size of the site at the time, and rent you have already paid does not come off it. Buying outright means a one-off build cost agreed up front, and once the build is complete the website is yours to own, with an affordable annual hosting plan keeping it live. Both are built the same way, to the same standard.
RentAWeb starts from £49 a month + VAT for a site of up to 5 pages, Essential is £79 a month for up to 10 pages, and online shops start from £99 a month including Stripe and PayPal checkout. Buying outright starts from £588 + VAT for a one-page site on our own Nova CMS, and bigger builds are individually quoted with a clear fixed price agreed before we start.
If you buy outright, yes. Once the build is signed off the website is yours. With RentAWeb you are renting, so the site stays ours unless you buy it out, which you can do whenever you like. The buy-outright price goes by the size of the site at the time, and rent you have already paid does not come off it.
RentAWeb is rolling monthly with 31 days' notice, so you are never locked in. Your first 3 months are payable up front to get the build started, and normal monthly billing follows. Outright builds are a one-off project with the price agreed before we start.
